But only meaningful strategies that prioritise the needs of the audience will be successful. Actions to improve DE&I at events can include anything from improved accessibility and broader choices at the venue, to inviting a diverse speaker line-up, sourcing diverse event suppliers, introducing health and wellness elements, and using inclusive images and graphics on-site and in event comms.
And while only just over half of those surveyed feel confident that they can meet their agreed DE&I objectives in 2024, many organisations are working on redressing the balance.
